Jerusalem Peacemakers organized a delegation of leaders of the Faith Communities of the Holy Land to Hebron to offer a prayer for Sulha/Conciliation at the entrance to The Cave of the Patriarchs.

Hebron (al-Halil – ?evron), is nestled in the Judean Mountains 30 km (19 mi) south of Jerusalem , and is most notable for containing the traditional burial site of the biblical Patriarchs and Matriarchs. Hebron is venerated by both Muslims and Jews.

The Cave of the Patriarchs (Cave of Machpelah / Me’arat ha-Machpela / Sanctuary of Abraham / Ibrahimi Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi) and adjoining field were purchased by Abraham/Ibrahim some 3700 years ago. Abraham/Ibrahim, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, and Leah, the Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the Bible, are all believed to be buried there. Abraham/Ibrahim, is revered by both Muslims and Jews as a Quranic prophet and a Patriarch (through Ishmael and Issac).

The Delegation included Sheikh Abu’l Qasim (Green Sheikh), Gabriel Meyer, Ihab Barha, Connie Risk, Sheikh Fara Gaye, Ibrahim Abu El-Hawa and Eliyahu McLean.
